2024 was a milestone year for Root Dental Clinic — the year we prepared to open our doors. But we believe a clinic doesn’t need a building or dental chairs to make a difference. What it needs is passionate people dedicated to sharing knowledge, inspiring healthier habits, and building trust in the community.
Our vision has always been to be part of your lives beyond the dental chair — to meet you in schools, at events, and in community spaces, starting conversations about oral health before there’s ever a problem. We want dentistry to be seen not as a last resort when pain strikes, but as an essential part of everyday wellbeing.
Here’s a look at some of the ways we reached out in 2024:
Teaching Life-Saving Skills – Basic Life Support
Dr Ann Meli Attard is a certified Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor with the Malta Resuscitation Council (MRC). In collaboration with MRC and the Dental Association of Malta, she delivered BLS training to members of the dental team.
Basic Life Support is a skill everyone should know — regardless of age or profession — because you never know when you might be called upon to save a life. MRC teaches a clear, proven algorithm for responding to cardiac arrest that can be followed by anyone, anywhere. With the right knowledge, quick thinking, and confident action, you really can make the difference between life and death.
Hands-On Training for Dentists – Conservative Restorative Techniques
As the first Key Opinion Leader appointed by GC for Malta, Dr Ann Meli Attard has been leading the way in teaching dentists how to manage worn teeth conservatively. Together with Cherubino Ltd, she organises hands-on courses, focusing on the Injection Moulding Technique — a minimally invasive way to restore aesthetics and function while preserving natural tooth structure.
These sessions not only give dentists practical skills they can use the very next day in clinic, but also spread an important message: dentistry can be beautiful, functional, and conservative all at once.

Dr. Ann Meli Attard Represents ROOT Dental Clinic on the Global Stage
In 2025, Dr. Ann Meli Attard was honoured to be invited by GC and selected as one of only six speakers worldwide for the prestigious GC Next Generation Conference in Leuven, Belgium. Following this recognition, she was also invited to present her work at the International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, one of the largest and most influential dental events in the world. These milestones highlight not only Dr. Ann’s dedication to advancing dentistry but also ROOT Dental Clinic’s growing presence on the international stage.

Bringing Dental Health to Schools – Education for Children
Children are the future — and good oral health habits should start early. In 2024, St Michael’s School invited Root Dental Clinic to speak to their Junior 2 students about dental care.
Sponsored by Oral B, the session was anything but boring. We sang songs, played games, and even launched an art competition called “What Makes You Smile?”. The winners proudly took home their very own Oral B iO electric toothbrush. It was a joyful reminder that when learning is fun, healthy habits can last a lifetime.
Busting Myths for Seniors – Common Misconceptions in Dentistry
Thanks to modern healthcare, we’re living longer — but that also means we need to keep our teeth healthy for longer. Unfortunately, many people stay away from the dentist because of outdated beliefs or misinformation.
Root Dental Clinic visited a group of senior citizens to tackle these common misconceptions head-on. It was an open, friendly conversation where participants could ask questions, share experiences, and leave with the knowledge (and confidence) to see their dentist regularly.
Our commitment to the community
These events are just the beginning. Our outreach programme is part of who we are — connecting with people, building trust, and sharing our expertise beyond the four walls of the clinic. Because at Root Dental Clinic, we believe that education is just as important as treatment.
